Back to School Tips?
Welcome back to school, everyone! Yes, it's January, means that all of us have already back to school after spending a lot of times for Christmas and winter break. Although I still have holiday spirit all around me, spinning like crazy. Making me lazy, even just to walk out to school. My feet just hesitated to. Bed is comfier. ;)
Since this is back to school I'm going to give some.. tips? hacks? anything? related... with.. school? SO, without anymore talkie-talk, let's just give it away...Things you need to know in facing school life!
SET ALARMS
Got early-morning classes? No problem, set an alarm, obviously. But the problem is you're a lazy person. Well, have you ever think to set a few alarms to wake you up on time? Rather than snoozing it, sometimes our hands eventually make it to turn off the alarm and pull the blanket back and ended up late. To avoid waking up late, set alarms like (for examples) every five or ten minutes between, one or two hours before the class starts (it's an option if you take forever in mornings). By then you'll get sick of turning off the alarms and choose to wake up instead. It helps me a lot. I, myself, set it like between 15 minutes each, 2 hours before the class, and my wake-up routine goes well. It becomes habit and you'd be surprised that you might even wake up before the alarms! And now, you got plenty of time to be prepared and you'll never be late for class.
Or, you can just set at least 2 alarms and put your phone or alarm faaaaar away across the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off.
LISTEN TO MUSIC WHILE STUDYING
Is it that hard to memorize or understanding the subjects? Actually, nope. We can handle it with playing our favorite playlist in the room while studying. For some of my friends, they feel more confident in learning the subjects, it feels easier to understand and memorize. Why? Because if you're memorizing or listening to lyrics in songs, your brain will be more active and faster in catching information. That's why in some learning videos use music in the background. Whether it's just classic instrumental (piano, violin, or guitar strums) or some catchy pop songs. It helps you to focus. But remember, if you want to improve it, study with study or Mozart playlist maybe in youtube or spotify -- the classical songs.
FUN FACT : When you need to memorize things better, try to memorize lyrics in songs and the thing you need to remember. It doesn't make sense but it does help!
COLOR CODES
My friends found it easier to study with color codes. By color coding, I mean using colorful pens, pencils, highlights but with the right color. For example, write the important points in red, names of inventors in blue, and might-not-that-important-but-remember-it-anyway in green. Why? Because it'll be catchy by the eyes. Plus, you'll find it easier to learn in this method because the colors indicates different categories of 'importantness' and you'll know which part should be your priority.
PLANNER ORGANIZATION
Do you want to be organized but not an organized person? Make a or some DIY weekly planner. You can look for it in Pinterest or DIY accounts in youtube. I made it myself, too and I find it very fun to use. Plus it really does help me... like until the fourth week. Ehe. But that is the consequence, you have to commit to yourself. Make a few time like when you wake up to look back again at your planner and put every goals you need to achieve or things you gotta do today and the rest of the week so you'd be prepared. Don't be lazy to update it, you'll never know how it can save your life from remembering too many things.
HAVE ME TIME, SPEND IT WITH FRIENDS & DO YOUR HOBBIES
This is the payment after spending the week with a lot of struggle. You deserve to have it. It keeps you sane, at least. And what could be more relaxing than sit down and have tea with your dear best friends or family? Or what else is fun than drawing all day, practise your guitar skill, or playing games? Or both! Take your family and friends out for an adventure like hiking, or look for culinary recommendations with your boy or girlfriend. Out of those ideas, maybe all you need is more sleep? Sleep ahead! Try some yoga class or just run on the field to make your body stimulate and generate. Plus, you'll have less stress and your body and mind is relaxed.
